Donald Trump’s obsession with crowd size rears its ugly head again, this time in Savannah, Georgia. After throngs of angry MAGA supporters gathered around the Johnny Mercer Civic Center complained to local reporters about the fact that Trump wasn’t in a bigger venue, the Mayor of the city weighed in.There was nothing the city could do, you see, about the folks who couldn’t get in to see their dear leader. Trump just didn’t plan ahead for a larger crowd, presumably because he’s been having such a hard time filling seats.Local news station WTOC spoke to Savannah Mayor Van Johnson, who responded to constituents’ concerns that Trump wasn’t allowed to be in a bigger venue:“Absolute nonsense. The City of Savannah is not involved in these matters at all beyond first responder and emergency management services. The Oak View Group manages the Enmarket Arena as a business enterprise and if the Trump campaign wanted to pay for it, they could have certainly used it. The Trump campaign selected the venue that they felt confident they could fill and apparently, the 2,565 seat venue at the Johnny Mercer Theater was more reasonable and easier to fill for them than the 9,500 seats in the Enmarket Arena.
