Former President Donald Trump lashed out at former Vice President Dick Cheney and his daughter former Rep. Liz Cheney after both endorsed his 2024 opponent Vice President Kamala Harris this week.Trump trashed both Republicans as nefarious characters and implied Mr. Cheney was guilty of war crimes – a charge many on the left have made against the former GOP mainstay for decades.Hours after the former vice president to George W. Bush referred to him as a “threat” to the country and announced he was voting Democratic, Trump pounced in a statement on Truth Social. The 2024 Republican Party nominee wrote:
Dick Cheney issued a statement Friday evening in which he portrayed Trump as an existential threat to the republic.“In our nation’s 248-year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump,” Cheney wrote. “He tried to steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters had rejected him. He can never be trusted with power again. “As citizens, we each have a duty to put country above partisanship to defend our Constitution. That is why I will be casting my vote for Vice President Kamala Harris.”Liz Cheney, who was ousted from her House seat by Wyoming voters during the 2022 GOP primary, put her weight behind Harris on Thursday.
