Friday night 22/28 News reported a heavy police presence at Montage Mountain where multiple different police units and ambulances were seen in the parking lot.

According to the Lackawanna County Communication Center, the incident occurred around 10:25 p.m. when officers on the scene were told of a fight circle happening in the parking lot.

The Scranton Police Department said 22-year-old Divine Naysa Nari Taylor from Ithaca, NY, 25-year-old Nyree Keyna Tawa Pemberton from Ithaca, NY, and 29-year-old Kwesi Elias Green from Hanover Township, PA have been charged after the altercation left four injured.

Police on the scene say they saw Green swinging at two females Pemberton and Taylor. Officers say they stepped in to control the fight before he ran closed fists into Pemberton knocking her unconscious.

The criminal complaint states an argument occurred inside the event and when the event was over they came after the victim again pulling a knife out, stabbing her and Green.

Police note during the investigation they discovered a weapon at the scene, Green and the victim had knife lacerations on their body.

The release states Taylor and Pemberton are not Pennsylvania residents and are being held at Lackawanna County Prison.

22/22 News reached out to Montage Mountain regarding the incident.

Thank you for reaching out. Last night’s incident occurred after our event ended and away from the waterpark in the parking lot as guests were leaving. We’ve had our Adult Swim for many years now, in fact this is our 11th year. We have always made a strong effort to operate safely and successfully. Through the years we’ve worked closely with the Scranton Police Department, partnering with their officers onsite as well as our own security staff to ensure guest safety. It is never a good situation when two young individuals decide, for whatever reason, to engage each other in a parking lot and fight. For our part, everyone involved acted quickly and professionally to control the situation and prevent escalation. Montage Mountain Resorts thanks the SPD, assisting first responders, and our own staff for their hard work, and we acknowledge all of our Adult Night guests who came to have a good time and refused to allow this isolated event to grow.

Tyler Crawford, Director of Resort Relations

Officials say this remains an active investigation.
