Premier League summer transfer window may stay open until January after coronavirus chaos

“These are unprecedented times and we now need to all come together to combat this global pandemic. It is important for everyone to follow government guidelines to help control the spread of COVID-19, wherever you are in the world.

“That’s what we’re doing at Manchester United, with all our players now training at home, following individual programmes and using technology to stay in touch with our medical, fitness and coaching staff.

“For everyone’s wellbeing, we all need to change our behaviour and look at new ways of communicating. We are lucky that many of us have access to technology that enables us to video call people so we can still see our friends and family without being face to face.

“By making these changes, or simply making sure we call and not visit or meet in person, we can all help save lives.

“We’re all looking forward to the football season resuming when it is safe to do so. Until then, we need to be united in looking after ourselves, our families and supporting our local communities. Stay safe, stay home and we hope to see you all soon.”
