While BBC Breakfast favourite Naga Munchetty, 45 spoke about her love for sport with co-presenter Louise Minchin, 51, and Annie Emmerson, she opened up about the “weird” moment with her colleague. The broadcaster, who is currently learning how to swim, said she hasn’t always been a fan of the activity.
Speaking on Her Spirit podcast, Louise introduced the episode by welcoming her friend Naga with Annie.
The presenter divulged: “Annie, so our next guest sits on the same sofa as me, I don’t think you’ve met her have you?” to which Annie responded: “I haven’t. But I know lots about her so I’m incredibly excited to chat with her.”
“Let me introduce you to my BBC Breakfast co-presenter,” Louise continued.
“We don’t actually present very often but we love it when we do, it is the wonderful, Naga Munchetty.”
Naga blurted out: “Wow, hello! Delighted to be here Louise.
“This is very weird Louise, being interviewed by you,” which led Louise to add: “Oh, I’m really excited about it.”
Shortly after, she went to discuss Naga’s love for sport and the reason why she hasn’t always loved swimming.
The BBC broadcaster began: “What I have loved about you over the last couple of years, is watching how adventurous you are in sport and the things you’ve learnt.
Before the star discussed further, Louise chipped in by saying: “Everyone who is listening is going to be like, ‘Yeah, she’s got some very good points there.'”
Listeners heard Naga agree and tell Louise: “Yeah, seriously! It’s a good point.”
The BBC star went on to reveal how she hadn’t had swimming lessons outside of school, and neither did her parents.
Naga recalled: “There were always the kids who had been taken swimming by their parents, and I never had been.
