Barcelona plan to offer Inter Milan star Lautaro Martinez a lucrative contract to lure him to the Nou Camp.

Martinez is Barcelona’s priority signing this summer and many inside the club view him as the long-term replacement for Luis Suarez.

Goal claim the Spanish champions are prepared to offer the Argentine international a contract worth £9million-a-year, which works out at £173,000-per-week.

Martinez, who has been hailed as ‘the next Sergio Aguero’ by Argentina legend Hernan Crespo, was previously linked with Chelsea – but Jadon Sancho is their primary transfer target.

Timo Werner situation relaxed

Timo Werner hasn’t expressed a desire to leave RB Leipzig.

That’s according to the club’s CEO Oliver Mintzlaff, who says he’s “deeply relaxed” about the whole situation.

The Germany international, whose contract contains a relatively modest £51million release clause, has been linked with Premier League trio Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea.

“I’m deeply relaxed about Werner,” he told Sky Germany. “He hasn’t signalled yet that he wants to leave beyond this season, and he doesn’t have to. He has a contract until 2023.”

Juan Mata backs Jadon Sancho

Juan Mata refused to be drawn in on transfer speculation linking Jadon Sancho with a move to Manchester United – but did label him a “great player.”

Sancho, 20, has been tipped to join Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford having proven himself as one of the brightest talents in world football.

“What do you want me to say?” Mata said on Instagram Live.”We all know that he’s a great player.

“He’s having a fantastic season at Borussia, but you know it’s not my responsibility to speak about those things. Of course, I like him as a player but I cannot reply to that.”

Philippe Coutinho agent

“Everything is a possibility,” in the future of Barcelona flop Philippe Coutinho, according to his agent Kia Joorabchain.

The Brazilian playmaker has been linked with several Premier League clubs including Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Leicester.

And despite Coutinho’s agent being an Arsenal supporter – Joorabchain claims he will not push his client towards the Emirates.

“The fact I’m an Arsenal supporter is not a secret,” Joorabchain told Sky Sports. “I don’t have any preference where the players go. I don’t try to push someone to one club or another. Everything is a possibility.

“The question is what are going to be the financial conditions of all the clubs, including Barcelona and all the Premier League clubs at the end of this pandemic.”

The exit shortlist

Manchester United are looking to offload FIVE first-team players to make room for new additions this summer.

According to the MEN, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have their sights set on three incomings with Jack Grealish, Jadon Sancho, James Maddison, Jude Bellingham and Odion Ighalo on their radar.

United chiefs including Ed Woodward are hopeful that the ‘valuations of players could dwindle’ given the financial pressure of the coronavirus pandemic – but regardless of cost – five players could be sold.

Phil Jones, Jesse Lingard, and Andreas Pereira are ‘vulnerable’ to the axe with Chris Smalling expected to join Roma and Alexis Sanchez actively looking for potential buyers.

Wanted: Joe Rodon

Manchester United are considering a move for Swansea defender Joe Rodon.

Rodon, 22, has risen through the ranks at the Championship side and earned plaudits for his excellent displays over the past two seasons – earning four caps for Wales.

WalesOnline claim Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea have been monitoring his progress and could be prepared to meet his £20million valuation.

The 6ft 4in centre-back has been compared to John Stones for his technical ability, passing range and confidence in possession.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are hopeful that Rodon will follow in the footsteps of friend Daniel James, who has made 37 appearances in his debut campaign at Old Trafford having been recommended by Ryan Giggs.

Ben Chilwell offer

Chelsea are planning an offer for Leicester full-back Ben Chilwell.

That’s according to the Daily Mail, who claim the England international will cost upwards of £50million.

Manager Frank Lampard considers the left-back role a ‘problem position’ for the Stamford Bridge club and thinks Chilwell, 25, is a great long-term solution.

The Blues expect to lose left-back Emerson Palmieri to either Juventus or Napoli with the £25m-rated defender behind Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta in the pecking order.

Lionel Messi transfer update

Barcelona star Lionel Messi has slammed suggestions he will leave the club at the end of the season after rumours circulated that he could be on his way to Inter Milan.

Italian press suggested the six-time Ballon d’Or winner could move to the San Siro for a final big pay day of his career.

But the Argentine forward has assured fans that he will remain at the Nou Camp in a rare update regarding his future.

Messi also dismissed claims he paid former team-mate Ronaldinho’s £1.3million ($ 1.6m) bail after the Brazilian was charged for allegedly using fake passports.

Messi took to Instagram to slam both tales as ‘Fake news’.

Marcos Rojo decision

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer doesn’t see Marcos Rojo in his plans, reports say.

The Argentina international left Old Trafford for Estudiantes during the January transfer window.

And it appears that, with the Red Devils well-stocked in defence, the centre-back won’t be given another chance to prove himself.

The Manchester Evening News say Solskjaer doesn’t see the veteran as part of his immediate plans for the future – which is why he loaned him out.

It’s claimed his long-term future at Old Trafford is unclear due to his high wages.
